The Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma today said that the district administration was committed to ensure the welfare of the pensioners and facilitate them for their day-to-day administrative works.
Addressing the gathering during the eight annual function of the Jalandhar unit of the Punjab Pensioners Welfare Association here today, the Deputy Commissioner the district administration was duty-bound to help these retired officers/ officials who have given their productive years in public service. He said that all out efforts would be made to assist them for getting their genuine work done at the earliest. Mr. Sharma said that he was fortunate to be here amongst all the pensioners to learn a lot from their vast experience in government service.
The Deputy Commissioner also lauded the role played by the organization in bringing all the pensioners on a single platform. He said that this helps in unifying efforts to make sure that pensioners do not face any sort of problem. Mr. Sharma said that such associations also boost the morale of the people by organizing frequent associations with their peer groups.
The Deputy Commissioner also asked the association to have more such interactions amongst them so as to enable them to spend their lives happily. He said that such efforts could be instrumental in filling the retired life with utmost happiness, joy and satisfaction.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner also felicitated 28 pensioners who have crossed 80 years of life. He wished them a long, prosperous and healthy life.
Earlier, the state President of organization Mr. Mahinder Singh Parwana, Mr. Piara Singh, Mr. Sarabjit Singh, Mr. Harcharan Singh, Mr. DD Singh Sodhi, Mr. Shiv Kumar, Mr. Gurdial Singh, Mr. Amrik Singh, Mr. Inderjit Singh, Mr. Joginder Singh, Mr. Jaspal Singh and Mr. Jasbir Singh welcomed the Deputy Commissioner.
