FLIGHTS FROM ADAMPUR TO START ON MAY 1, BOOKING ON APRIL 14
DC AND SSP VISITS TO REVIEW ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE MEGA EVENT

In consonance with the commitment of Punjab government to provide air connectivity to the state under Udaan Regional Connectivity Service (RCS) of the Government of India, the flights from Adampur airport would start on coming May 1 as the Spice jet would start the booking of flights from coming April 14.
Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma and Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, who visited the airport today for overseeing the arrangements, said that the airport was all set for inauguration as the entire civil work has already been completed. They said that the visitor and VIP lounge was also ready along with high powered X-ray machines. They said that the Spice Jet Company had already started setting up its paraphernalia at the airport to start the booking of tickets on April 14, the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. BR Ambedkar.
They said that the entire civil work has been completed on the airport and now the decks have been cleared for starting of the flights. They said that the state government has already given land for the airport, along with constructing approach road, making provision of the water works, uninterrupted power supply and others. They said that the state government was committed for starting the flights at the earliest to facilitate the people.
They said that this airport once operational would provide air connectivity to the region with the rest of the globe. They further said that besides saving time, money and energy of the people especially the NRIs from the region, this airport would also give boost to the economic development of the region in general and Jalandhar city in particular. They said that besides facilitating NRIs to stay connected with their roots, this airport would also boost medical tourism and industrial development in media capital of the state.
