CRPF TO ASSIST COMMISSIONERATE POLICE TO KEEP A STRICT VIGIL OVER THE LAW AND ORDER SITUATION IN WAKE OF POLLS

• CP VISITS JOINT NAKA OF CRPF AND COMMISSIONERATE POLICE AT CHUNMUN CHOWK TO REVIEW SECURITY ARRANGEMENTS
Jalandhar, March 15-
Prior to the general elections a company of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) today arrived in the city for helping the Commissionerate Police to keep a regular tab over the law and order situation.
The Assistant Commandant of the Para Military Force Mr. Sanjay Kumar Chaudhary today called on the Commissioner of Police Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar in his office. During deliberations with the Assistant Commandant, the Commissioner of Police said that the para military force and Commissionerate Police would jointly undertake the responsibility of maintaining law and order in the district. He said that both the forces would ensure that Polls were held peacefully in the state.
The Commissioner of Police, later visited a joint naka of the CRPF and Commissionerate Police at Chunmun Chowk and interacted with the Police officers and jawans. Mr. Bhullar reiterated the firm commitment of the Commissionerate Police to maintain and law at every cost. He said that Commissionerate Police would ensure foolproof arrangements during run up for polls to ensure that free, fair and transparent elections were held in district. Mr. Bhullar directed the officers/ officials to beef up security arrangements at all such places which were vulnerable.
The Commissioner of Police said that every effort would be made to make security system more responsive and efficient. He said that the major focus of the Commissionerate Police was on prevention of crime and instilling sense of security amongst the residents. Mr. Bhullar assured the people that fool proof security cover has already been put in place in the city and no one would be allowed to take the law in its hands.
The Commissioner of Police said that the Police was there round the clock to help and assist people. He said that the Commissionerate Police would uphold the glorious tradition of the Punjab Police to perform their duty with utmost zeal and professional integrity thereby conducting the elections in a free, fair and peaceful manner. Mr. Bhullar said that in wake of polls all the officers of the Commissionerate Police have already been issued directions to beef up the security arrangements under their respective jurisdictions.
