DC QUELLS MALICIOUS PROPAGANDA ON SOCIAL MEDIA AGAINST MR DRIVE BY IMMUNIZING HIS DAUGHTERS AT CIVIL HOSPITAL

In order to quell the negative propaganda being unleashed on social media against the anti-Measles Rubella campaign, the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma today got his daughters immunized during the ongoing drive at the Civil Hospital Jalandhar.
Setting an example, the Deputy Commissioner, accompanied by his wife Mrs. Praveen Sharma, went to the local Civil hospital in the morning to get his daughters immunized under the campaign. After the immunization, the Civil Surgeon Dr. Jaspreet Kaur Sekhon handed over the immunization cards to the proud parents. Both the daughters of the Deputy Commissioner also expressed happiness over becoming a part of this mass immunization drive.
Meanwhile, interacting with the media persons, the Deputy Commissioner said that every parent must come forward to immunize their kids during this ongoing drive. He said that the message of this mass campaign was loud and clear that not even a single child would be left out during this campaign aimed at making the district free from the curse of Measles and Rubella. Mr. Sharma said that all the 5.31 lakh children in 1500 schools of the school within an age group of 09 months to 15 years would be covered under this drive.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the negative tirade on social media against this pro-people campaign was totally absurd. He said that while the parents earlier used to get their children immunized after paying heavy charges for it, the government has now decided to immunize the children free of cost through this mass campaign. Mr. Sharma called upon the parents to drive maximum benefit from this campaign for making Jalandhar totally Measles Rubella free district.
Prominent amongst others present on the occasion included Civil Surgeon Dr. Jaspreet Kaur Sekhon, Medical Superintendent Dr. KS Bawa, District Immunization Officer Dr. Tarsem Singh, Dr. Kulwinder Kaur, social activist Ms. Veenu Kamboj and others.
