HOLDS COUNSELING SESSION WITH FAMILY OF NOTORIOUS GANGSTER BABA TO PERSUADE HIM TO JOIN MAINSTREAM

In a unique initiative aimed at bringing the notorious gangsters back into the mainstream, a team of Jalandhar Police Commissionerate today visited the house of a gangster and persuaded his family members to ask him to return back to normal fold.
On the directions of Police Commissioner Mr. Praveen Kumar Sinha, a team of the Commissionerate Police led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr. Gurmeet Singh visited the house of gangsters Gurbaj Singh alias Baba in New Raj Nagar. The team accompanied by the eminent residents of area had detailed parleys with the family members of the gangsters. During the counseling session the Police officers convinced the family members of the gangsters that as per the policy of the state government if returns to mainstream then every effort would be made by them to rehabilitate him.
Mr. Gurmeet Singh said that the gangsters was wanted by the Police in three serious FIRs involving serious offences like murder, illegal arms and others. He said that as per the Policy of the state government to rehabilitate such youth who were treading the wrong path, they were here to convince the family members to ask Baba to shun this path. The Deputy Commissioner of Police said that if Baba returns to manifold then every effort would be made rehabilitate him so that he could live his life with dignity and pride.
Mr. Gurmeet Singh said that Baba was a proclaimed offender in two cases and was wanted by the Police in three cases. He said that the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police would continue to make more concerted efforts to bring such disarrayed youth into the mainstream.
