INDIA NEWS CENTRE,JALANDHAR- Asserting that Rs 800 crore embezzlement in post matric scholarship scheme was not possible without the political patronage of erstwhile SAD-BJP government in state, the Forest Minister Punjab Mr. Sadhu Singh Dharmsot today said the perpetrators of this heinous crime against SC community would not be spared at any cost. In a statement issued here today, the Minister, who was here to participate in shobha yatra to mark parkash utsav of Bhagwan Valmiki Ji today, said that the audit of these irregularities was already going on and would be completed very soon. Mr. Dharmsot said besides initiating punitive action against the embezzlers of money under this scheme, the mechanism for recovery of embezzled amount from concerned colleges/ universities/ officers/ officials and politicians would be started. He said that every individual who was involved in this daylight robbery on the interests of the SC students would be punished severely by the Captain Amarinder Singh led state government. On another issue, the Minister said that, the Minister said that the Forest department would soon start a massive drive to recover thousand acres of its encroached land. He said that due to the political patronage of the previous government affluent people had encroached this land of the Forest department. However, Mr. Dharmsot said that every inch of government land which has been encroached illegally would be recovered to plant more and more trees. The Minister for Welfare of Schedule Castes also said that as per the instructions of the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh a complete facelift was being given to the department for implementation of the welfare schemes in a befitting manner. Mr. Dharmsot said that he has already instructed the officers to start the process for the filling of all the sanctioned posts which were lying vacant. Likewise, he said that the officers have been asked to put up requisition for vehicles, staff, furniture and computers which were needed for the smooth functioning of the department.
