SAYS PEOPLE HAVE REJECTED AKALIS TIME AND AGAIN
‘POLL KHOL’ RALLIES OF AKALIS A FUTILE ATTEMPT AS PEOPLE HAVE INFLICTED CRUSHING DEFEAT TO AKALIS THRICE

Local Government Minister, Punjab Mr. Navjot Singh Sidhu today batted for formation of a special cell for immediately redressing the grievances of the NRI brethren and facilitating them to become active partners in the progress and prosperity of the state.
The Minister, who was here to participate in Jatt-Expo farm fair at village Paragpur, said that it was the need of the hour to elicit maximum participation of the NRIs in the process of development of the state. He said that NRIs must be facilitated by redressing their grievances at the earliest by establishing this cell which must entertain all their complaints and ensure its early solution under one roof. Mr. Sidhu said that this would help in connecting the NRIs with their roots.
The Minister said that the NRIs have proved their mettle across the globe through their sheer hard work and dedication. He said that the expertise of NRIs could be made for making them partners in the progress of the state. Mr. Sidhu said that sense of security and confidence must be instilled amongst the NRIs in order to make them a part of ongoing development in the state.
Showering praise for NRIs Mr. Ranbir Singh Tut and Mr. Ranjit Singh Tut for organizing this fair, the Minister said that this shows the concern of NRIs for the welfare of farming community back at their home. He said that farmers would be immensely benefitted from this noble gesture of the NRIs. Mr. Sidhu said that such fairs were immensely beneficial for the farmers to enhance their profit and make agriculture a profitable venture.
Replying to another query, the Minister said that the state government was being led by an able leader like Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder. He said that the state was his safe hands and apt decisions were being taken on the issues like the paddy straw management and others.
On another query, the Minister said that the Akalis have no moral right to hold ‘Poll Khol’ rallies as people have rejected them time and again. He said that which what face they were organizing such rallies when the people have taught them lesson repeatedly. Mr. Sidhu said that Akali must remember that they have been ousted from the power by people in 2017 Vidhan Sabha elections by inflicting a crushing defeat.
Likewise, the Minister said that the huge defeat in Gurdaspur by-poll and three Municipal Corporations of state including Jalandhar, Amristar and Patiala reflects the simmering anger amongst the people against the misdeeds of Akalis. He said that the stage was all set for another crushing defeat to them in ensuing polls of Municipal Corporation Ludhiana. Mr. Sidhu said that the people were well aware of dubious characters of Akalis due to which they have been shown the door by people.
