The Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Jasbir Singh today said that every officer/ official of the district administration should give full respect to the senior citizens visiting their offices for routine administrative works.
Addressing the officers/ officials after administering oath to them for respecting the senior citizens here at the local District Administrative Complex, the Additional Deputy Commissioner said that India was one of the oldest civilization and from time immemorial our forefathers taught us about the values of being respectful towards parents and elders. He said that these were the social values enshrined in our civilization and also engraved in our minds. Mr. Jasbir Singh said that the same old values need to be inculcated in our minds because it was our collective responsibility to establish and sustain an environment of safety and security for our senior citizens.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner said that the officers/ officials must ensure that the senior citizens were accorded proper respect and dignity in the government offices. He said that the senior citizens must be given top priority so that they do not face any problem in getting their routine administrative works done in the government offices. Mr. Jasbir Singh said that it was need of hour to ensure that senior citizens develop a sense of belongingness adding that it was our moral duty to respect and care our elders.
