Sukhbir remembers the incident of 1952, which never occurred, but forgets the gruesome incidents of sacrilege and police firing of 1986: Chaudhary Santokh Singh

·       Sukhbir needs to brush up his History knowledge ·       Precedents are there, which confirms that Sukhbir doesn’t know what he speaks

·       SAD Candidate himself exposes SAD for its “criminal and callous” attitude towards 1986 incidents of sacrilege and police firing in which four youth were brutally murdered in Nakodar

NIKHIL SHARMA,PHILLAUR:
Reacting on the allegations made by SAD President Sukhbir Badal on late Master Gurbanta Singh for waving black flags to Dr B R Ambedkar when he visited Jalandhar in 1952, Congress candidate Chaudhary Santokh Singh today refuted such allegations and ruled out any such incident occurred ever.

“This is complete
false and hollow allegations, as my father was on very good terms with Dr Ambedkar and there was no question of any protest during his visit to Jalandhar during those days”, Chaudhary, said while addressing a massive gathering at Phillaur today.

“Our family always stood by with the ideology of Ambedkar ji and even in Parliament also I quoted Dr Ambedkar many times to spread his vision towards the upliftment of Dalits”, MP Chaudhary said while terming former SAD Chief Parkash Singh Badal as “Gaddar” as he burnt the copy of the Constitution (written by Dr Ambedkar) at New Delhi.

Vikramjit Chaudhary
said “Late Master Gurbanta Singh played a very positive role by sending hundreds telegrams in support Dr B R Ambedkar for sending him for Round Table Conference at London, to apprise world with his thought on Dalits”.

He termed SAD MLAs Pawan Kumar Tinu and Baldev Singh Khaira as “traitors” as they ditched BSP to join SAD, which is an anti-Dalit party.

“It is high time to assess the mindset of Sukhbir, as he remembered the incident of 1952, which actually never occurred, but forgot the gruesome incident of sacrilege and police firing of Nakodar in which four Sikh youth were murdered in 1986”, Chaudhary, who was accompanied by his son and General Secretary of PPCC, Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary said.

Taking a jibe at Sukhbir, Chaudhary said “Sukhbir needs to brush up his history, which reveals that Dr Ambedkar never came to Jalandhar in 1952, rather it was in 1951, when he visited Jalandhar and there is no such incident of protest occurred then”. “Sukhbir must reveal that where he read about the incident of 1952”, MP Chaudhary quipped.

Moreover, every Punjabi knows that even Sukhbir doesn’t know what he speaks for which several precedents are available like when he termed his father as “Pita Saman” (Fatherly figure) or holding the next meeting of his cabinet at ”Mangal Grah”, Chaudhary said, which left the crowd amusing to have a long and big laugh on it.

Chaudhary said even SAD Candidate Charanjit Singh Atwal also passed the buck to his party as far as allegation of “hushing up” the report of Special Investigation Team (SIT) on the incident of 1986 at Nakodar when four youth were killed in police firing during their protest against the sacrilege of Guru Granth Saheb in the area.

Atwal, in an attempt to go away from the allegation of his role in hush up the SIT report, yesterday said he was the Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha in 2001 when the report of Justice Gurnam Singh on the Nakodar 1986 killings was tabled, but said it was the then Government (SAD-BJP), which was responsible for hushing up the SIT report, by not taking any action on the report.

“It is quite surprising that president of the panthic party SAD, which claims to be champion of the religious issues, does not remember the gruesome acts of sacrilege and police firing in which four innocent youth were killed”, Congress Candidate said.
How it is possible that even as the issue related to the alleged extra-judicial killings of four youths in Nakodar in 1986 is being debated for a long time and has often made headlines in media reports, SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal chose to get away with it saying that he had no knowledge about the incident? Chaudhary quipped.

Claiming that the SAD would be vanished from the Punjab politics after ensuing Lok Sabha Polls, as it would not win even a single seat, Chaudhary said vowing that SAD has forfeited its moral right to term itself as “Panthic Party”.

“The real anti-panth face of Badals has already been exposed before the Sikhs, especially after their shoddy role in the sacrilege incidents and firing incidents on the peaceful Sikh protesters in which two innocent youth were killed, during their regime” Chaudhary added.

 “Whenever SAD Government
takes over in state, such incidents of sacrilege witnessed spurt, which could be evident from the series of sacrilege incidents during the previous rule of SAD-BJP” Chaudhary alleged.

Prominent among others who were present on the occasion include Zila Parishad members Pushpa Devi, Gurpreet Kaur, Surjeet Singh, Harmesh Lal and other Congress leaders.
