INDIA NEWS CENTRE,Phagwara (Kapurthala): Asserting that ‘sins’ of decade long misrule of SAD-BJP government in the state could not be washed overnight, Forest Minister Punjab Mr. Sadhu Singh Dharmsot today said that despite of all odds the Congress government under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has done exemplary work in its short span of six months for restoring the pristine glory of state.Interacting with the media persons here today, Mr. Dharmsot,accompanied by former Punjab Minister Mr. Joginder Singh Mann, said that the Punjab government has taken path breaking initiatives during the first six months. He said that loan waiver of the farmers coupled with the announcement to give poor to the industry at rate of Rs 5 perunit and several others were aimed at ensuring the welfare of commonman along with putting the state on high growth trajectory. The Minister said that the historic initiatives taken by the CaptainAmarinder Singh government in the state marks the dawn of new era in Punjab.The Minister said that Captain Amarinder Singh was chalking out a comprehensive strategy for giving new direction to the state. Slammingthe previous SAD-BJP alliance government, he said that this corrupt and tyrannical government had derailed the development of the state and pushed it back on all fronts. However, Mr. Dharmsot said that under the visionary and dynamic leadership of Captain Amarinder Singh a framework was being prepared to give a major push to all-round development of state.The Cabinet Minister further said that the state government was committed to wipe out the curse of drugs from the state. He said that all the big fish in drug trade would be put behind the bars by the state government. Mr. Dharmsot said that Captain Amarinder Singh government would eliminate the scourge of drugs from state, for which concerted efforts were already afoot.On another query, the Minister said that during the misrule of alliance 1000 acres of forest land was illegally encroached by the affluent people. He said that to recover this land the Forest department would soon embark a special drive, which would be started from Ludhiana. Assailing the Modi led government at the centre, the Minister said that the NDA government was meeting out step motherly treatment with the state. He said that the recent decision of the Modi Government to extend tax concessions to the hilly states was a fatal blow to the industry of the state. Likewise, he bemoaned that the wrong policies of the NDA government has ruined the small industrialist of Punjab.On another query, the Minister said that the audit pertaining to the Rs 800 crore embezzlement in the post matric scholarship scheme of the state was going on and the perpetrators of this heinous crime against the Schedule caste students would be put behind the bars. On the occasion Presidents of Block Congress Mr. Daljeet Singh Raju and Mr. Sanjeev Bugga besides several other Congress leaders were also present.
