Officers of Civil and Police Administration of Jalandhar district joined their counterparts of Border Security Force (BSF) to celebrate the raising day of this premier paramilitary force of the country, which was founded on December 1, 1965.

In a function held at the Frontier Headquarters of BSF here late last night,  the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma, Commissioner of Police (CP) Mr. Praveen Kumar Sinha, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr. Bhupinder Pal Singh, Senior Technical Manager of NIC Mr. Amolak Singh Kalsi and others complimented the Inspector General of BSF Mr. Mukul Goel on this occasion.

Lauding the stellar role of BSF in safeguarding the borders of the country and in other peace time activities, they said that this premier paramilitary force has a long and glorious track record of serving the nation. They said that the exemplary courage and bravery shown by brave officers and jawans of BSF from time to time to uphold the unity, integrity and sovereignty of the country hardly finds any parallel. Likewise, they said that the heroic deeds of BSF officers and jawan have made every countrymen feel proud of them. 

The officers said that superb and unparalleled valour of the BSF officers and Jawan along with their sense of professional commitment would ever remain a source of inspiration for every resident of the country to serve their country. They said that BSF personnel were known for their valiant deeds in protecting the lives of countrymen. Likewise, they said that the role played by it in the relief activities during the natural disasters and other turbulent periods was equally laudable. Congratulating Mr. Goel on this historic day the officers expressed hope that the BSF would uphold its long and rich tradition of nation’s service in a dedicated manner during the coming times.

Welcoming all the officers to the function, Mr. Goel apprised them about the services rendered by the force for protecting the borders of the country. The Inspector General of Police also thanked all the officers for gracing the occasion and joining the BSF officers for the celebrations.

Prominent amongst other present on the occasion included Deputy Inspector General of BSF Mr. Sanjeev Bhanot, Mr. RS Kataria, Mr. TK Meena and Mr. Gurpal Singh besides several other serving and retired officers.
