Grand inauguration of Shiksha Mahakumbh RASE-2023) at NIT Jalandhar in the auspicious presence of Capt. Anurag Thakur
India News Centre,Jalandhar_National Conference on Recent Advances in School Education (RASE – 2023) organized by Sarvhitkari Educational Society, Jalandhar, Punjab in association with Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology Jalandhar, Punjab inaugurated on 9th June 2023. The grand event witnessed the auspicious presence of Capt. Anurag Singh Thakur (Union Minister of Information & Broadcasting and Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India) as a Chief Guest, Prof. Adarsh Pal Vig (Chairman, Pollution Control Board, Punjab), Prof. Binod Kumar Kanaujia (Director, NIT Jalandhar), Shri Desh Raj Sharma (General Secretary, Vidya Bharti, North Zone), Prof. Navdeep Shekhar, Vijay Kumar Nadda (Organizing Secretary, Vidya Bharti, North Zone), Shri Rajendra Kumar (Organizing Secretary, Vidya Bharti, Punjab), Shri Irwin Khanna (Editor-in-Chief, Uttam Hindu), Prof. Ajay Bansal (Registrar, NIT Jalandhar).
The event commenced with Saraswati Vandana by the students of SVM Jalandhar. After that, Prof. Kanaujia welcomed the chief guest Capt. Anurag Singh Thakur, all dignitaries and the participants.
Professor Binod Kumar Kanaujia, Director Dr B R Ambedkar NIT Jalandhar, in his inaugural address highlighted the recent achievements of the Institute. He informed that Institute has achieved 46th NIRF ranking in Engineering. Shri Desh Raj Sharma stressed on the need of having an education system which results in holistic development of students which further results in skill enhancement of students. Keeping this thing in mind, government has devised new National Education Policy (NEP)- 2020.
Union Minister, Captain Anurag Thakur commenced his speech congratulating Sarvhitkari Educational Society, Jalandhar, Punjab and NIT Jalandhar for organizing RASE 2023. He said NEP 2020 is the requirement of our country as per the changing world scenario. New education policy has been proposed by a larger pool of various stake holders belonging from the different sections of the society, so that it can better serve the society. He said, the basic education as well as higher education should be imparted in local language. Government under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi is committed towards developing more and more educational institutes of national importance like AIIMS, IITs, IIMs, NITs, etc. He also counted the grand achievements of Modi Government and laid the foundation stone for Sports and Healthcare Research Centre at NIT Jalandhar in the presence of Director, Registrar, Deans and Faculty members.
Irvin Khanna emphasized that teaching and learning process should result in the holistic development of the students. Adarsh Pal Vij highlighted that the education should result in character building and high moral values. Professor Ajay Bansal conveyed the vote of thanks to all the dignitaries.
In the second session, Vijay Sampla, Chairman, National commission for scheduled castes was the chief guest while Shiv Prakash, National Joint Organizing Secretary BJP was the keynote speaker with other dignitaries.
